St Peter's School Cambridge runs all-day
Business Game Seminar
1st December, 2010
Trials Version 3.0
| On the 1st December some 40 students at St Peter's School
Cambridge, New Zealand, trialled our latest production - Version 3.0 We ran a combined gaming and seminar day from 9 am to 3 pm during which students learnt how to run a business and listened to a lecture by Mr David Milson on his experiences in setting up Dick Smith Electronics in New Zealand. Mr Milson was able to draw many parallels between setting up and running a distribution network and the principles taught in the game. The students had had some experience with Version 2.0 but said that they enjoyed playing Version 3.0 more because it was more sophisticated and had a team element. In this version students play in teams consisting of four managers: Owner, General Manager, Production Manager and Retail Manager Each player has his or her area of responsibility, but to be successful the players must learn to operate as a team, with common goals and good lines of communication.
